Welcome to Kwantip – Samrub Thai Dining

At Kwantip, we honour the Thai tradition of Samrub — a shared feast served all at once, not as a procession of courses but as a complete composition of contrast, harmony, and generosity. Each Samrub captures the essence of togetherness: abundant, balanced, and meant to be enjoyed as one.

Our kitchen is led by Chef Pom Kwantip Devakula, who carries with her the culinary wisdom of four generations. From the refined Central Thai recipes once served at Devavesm Palace to the bold Southern flavours of Thung Song, Nakhon Si Thammarat, her cooking bridges noble heritage with heartfelt home tradition.

Today, her youngest son, Chef Air Kulapol Samsen, continues that lineage — preserving the integrity of authentic Thai cuisine while guiding it toward a thoughtful modern expression. Together, they form a dialogue between past and present, between heritage and evolution.

We cook Thai food as it was meant to be — with devotion, precision, and respect — while embracing the finest ingredients from both Thailand and beyond. For us, authenticity is not defined by geography but by understanding: a deep grasp of the flavours, balance, and spirit that give each dish its soul. It is this sensitivity to harmony — not the mere use of local ingredients — that reveals the heart of our cuisine. When shaped by knowledge and intention, Thai food transcends borders yet remains profoundly and unmistakably Thai.

Our menu evolves with the seasons, changing quarterly to follow nature’s rhythm and the fleeting beauty of its ingredients. Each Samrub tells a story — of land and sea, of memory and innovation — woven together with understanding and purpose.

At Kwantip, we invite you to experience Thai cuisine as a living heritage: rooted in history, refined through wisdom, and shared with joy.

Khun Chai Omelette

Gaeng Kee Lek — Cassia Leaf Curry with Grilled Thai Wagyu

Grilled Thai Wagyu onglet, tender and rich, paired with Central-style cassia leaf curry — rounded and mellow so the beef’s depth shines. Only young cassia leaves and blossoms are used for a delicate, non-bitter finish.

Gaeng Som — Southern Sour Soup with Japanese Golden Pomfret

From Chef Pom’s mother: bold, spicy, and tangy, fragrant with house-pickled young bamboo shoots. Japanese pomfret (Marukoban), richer and softer than Thai pomfret, lends luxurious body. Perfect with Khun Chai Omelette.

Massaman — Curry with Lamb Ribs

New Zealand Lumina lamb ribs braised until fork-tender yet intact, served in a smooth, aromatic massaman curry with roasted peanuts for texture and fried shallots for gentle sweetness.
